Vasanth, Vijayakumar are the two suspects arrested in the case. It is alleged that the duo along with three others have abducted the girl child and raped her in the backyard of her house.
However, the police have not issued any official statement that the girl child was raped before murder. According to police reports, the suspect have been booked for murder and not rape.
The Police have registered a murder case and commenced investigation. A special team of 4 inspectors, 6 sub-inspectors have been formed under the supervision of Periyanaickenpalayam DSP Mani to nab the offenders.
About the Case:
Sathish and Vanitha residing in Thippanoor near Pannimadai lodged a missing complaint after their 7-year-old daughter did not return from the school. After the child who was pursuing Class 1 at the nearby Government School did not return home after school hours, the couple became anxious and informed the police station.
The parents, relatives and neighbours of the child searched for the little girl all through the night but could not find the child.
Meanwhile, on Tuesday morning, the girl was found dead in a pit at Kasturinaickenpudur with her hands tied and scars all over her body. The police retrieved the body and sent it to the Government Hospital for postmortem.
Parents and their kin staged a road block in front of the Government Hospital, demanding the arrest of the culprits immediately and urged to punish them with a death sentence.
