Coimbatore: Manikandan, the common candidate of the Tamil Nadu Ilaignar Katchi, Coimbatore District Jallikattu Youth Federation and a few other NGOs, filed his nomination at the District Collectorate, today.

Manikandan who is to contest on the ‘ring’ symbol, addressed the media saying, "The MP fund has not been used effectively for the past five years. Privatization of drinking water distribution and elephant corridor encroachment are the major issues in Coimbatore.
The city which was earlier known for its cool climate, about 20 years ago, now has high temperature surpassing that of districts like Namakkal and Salem too. If voted to power, we will take measures to add greenery to the city for monitoring its temperature."

"We also have development schemes such as road expansion and underground drainage schemes for the benefit of the people. Coimbatore should support us and cast their vote for the ‘ring’ symbol," requested Manikandan.
