Coimbatore : Ahead of Makkal Needhi Maiyam's (MNM) public meeting at the CODISSIA grounds last evening, the President of MNM, Kamal Haasan was to meet with a few doctors at the city's Perks School.
Electoral officials halted the meeting stating that it was being conducted without proper permission. The doctors and others present at Perks School were disappointed but could not go ahead with the meeting, in spite of assuring the officials that it was not scheduled as a political meeting.
The election officials of Singanallur constituency have now decided to send a notice to the concerned private school seeking explanation regarding this meeting. "We will serve a notice to the concerned private school, seeking explanation regarding this private meeting, after getting a nod from our higher authorities," said the officials.
