Coimbatore : With the streams running upto the Kovai Kuttralam falls turning dry, forest department has decided to close eco tourism there until further notice.
District Forest Officer (DFO) D. Venkatesh said that the closure would be implemented from tomorrow (26.03.2019) citing lack of water.
“The water level is very low and the area is hit by heavy drought due to lack of rain,” he said.
He further added that movement of wild elephants on the road leading to falls is also high, which could be dangerous for tourists.
“The facility will be opened again once the area sees rain,” said the DFO.
