Coimbatore: After fire broke out at the Vellalore dump yard on Saturday night, the Corporation Commissioner has announced that additional water tankers will be pressed into service near the dump yard to control fire.

He also noted that more machineries and poclain's will be deployed to segregate the waste and a fire tender and additional water tanker along with the existing eight tankers will be stationed at the dump yard.

Corporation Commissioner Sravan Kumar who visited the spot noted that a team of five staff will be monitoring the dump yard to prevent fire accidents.

Deputy Commissioner, Prasanna Ramasamy, City Engineer, Lakshman and other zonal officials were present during the review.
