The Nilgiris: One among the 3 bears straying at S. Kaikatti village near Kotagiri has been trapped by the forest department.
S Kaikatti village is situated at Kotagiri in the Nilgiris district. Last week, three bears strayed into a temple in this village and caused damaged to the lamps and other things placed inside the temple.
Due to the bear movement, residents of S Kaikatti, Sunshine Nagar and Kasthuriba Nagar who visit the temple frequently requested the forest department to set a trap for these bears.
Following this, a cage was placed in front of the temple in which one among the 3 bears got trapped on Friday night. The bear was released into the forest are bear Avalanche in Ooty.
The forest department has decided to place a cage to trap the remaining two bears.
