Coimbatore : During a vehicle check on Saturday, the election flying squad have seized Rs. 43 lakh worth foreign currency at Ondipudur. The money has been handed over to the Income tax department.

Jayaram, a worker of EPIX gas world in Uppillipalayam was on his way to Airport. He had in his possession currencies of several countries including America, Singapore and European. The election squad intercepted his vehicle in Ondipudur and found 35000 USD, 22000 GSD dollar, 10000 EUR with him, which is worth 43,44,900 INR.
The officials handed over the confiscated amount to the Income Tax officers. However, after submission of relevant documents, the Income Tax officials returned the money back to Jayaram.
