Coimbatore : The Department of Civil Engineering of PSG Institute of Technology and Applied Research, Coimbatore is hosting an International Conference on 'Industry 4.0 and Advancements in Civil Engineering' on March 22 and 23, with the inaugural function of the Conference held yesterday in the college premises.

Dr. P Perumal, the Professor of Civil Engineering welcomed the gathering, while Dr. P V Mohanram, Principal delivered the Presidential address. Prof. Andrew Quinn, International Lead (India and Europe), Glasgow Caledonian University, Scotland, who is the main associate of the Conference delivered the inaugural address and released the conference proceedings.
This was followed by the felicitation address by Dr. S Neelamani, Senior Research Scientist, Kuwait Institute for Scientific Research, Kuwait and Dr. G Chandramohan, Vice Principal. Dr. M Arun, the Organizing Secretary briefed that about 200 papers were selected from six countries for presentation. S Elayaraja, Assistant Professor conducted a Pre Conference Workshop on March 21 on 'Geotechnical Earthquake Engineering - Real time analytics case studies.'
Dr. M I Abdul Aleem, Professor and Head of Civil Engineering and Convenor of the conference summarised the activities, thanking the management, invitees and participants for their support.
