Coimbatore: With less than a month left for the parliamentary elections, six vehicles of the Makkal Needhi Maiam party arrived at the District Collectorate here today, seeking permission for using the vehicles to campaign at Pollachi.
Even before the announcement of the candidate to contest in the Pollachi consistency, the campaign vehicles are getting ready to hit the road. Mini trucks with MNM's hoardings have been parked at the Collectorate awaiting permission. The vehicles will reportedly be used by Dr Mahendran to traverse across the constituency, with sources hinting that Dr Mahendran, Vice President of Makkal Needhi Maiam will be contesting from his hometown Pollachi.
On the other hand, the announcement of the second phase of candidates in Coimbatore is due soon, where Kamal Haasan himself will announce the candidates. During Kamal Haasan's visit to Coimbatore on March 24, it is expected that the founder of MNM will take some important decisions on candidates.
