Coimbatore: Clarifying his stance on why the CB-CID had summoned him on Thursday, in connection with the Pollachi sexual abuse case, Mayura Jayakumar, the Working President of the Tamil Nadu Congress said that he was called to confirm if Thirunavukarasu, the prime accused in the case visited the District Congress office on February 12.
Coimbatore: Clarifying his stance on why the CB-CID had summoned him on Thursday, in connection with the Pollachi sexual abuse case, Mayura Jayakumar, the Working President of the Tamil Nadu Congress said that he was called to confirm if Thirunavukarasu, the prime accused in the case visited the District Congress office on February 12.

He further briefed that during the interrogation, Thirunavukkarasu had told the CB-CID officials that he had visited the District Congress party office along with a Congress cadre, Kanagaraj, on February 12 to congratulate him for being appointed as the Working President of the party.
"To confirm the statement, the CB-CID officials had called me. I don't have any connections with the case or the accused. I have clarified to the officials that I do not remember meeting them in the party office or engaging in any conversation with them on February 12 or later," stated Mayura Jayakumar. "I was called as an evidence, and nothing more," he added.

Rajasekar who reportedly accompanied Thirunavukkarasu to meet Mayura Jayakumar said, "On February 12, Thirunavukarasu and Kanagaraj came to congratulate Mayura Jayakumar. We don't have any personal connection with him or the case."
