In the district, so far, 1248 weapon license holders have surrendered their arms before the police. Out of the 1551 gun license holders in the district, around 790 are from city limits and 721 are from rural limits. The remaining weapon license holders are yet-to-be-submitted", noted the official.
With the exception for those securing banks and ex-servicemen, every other licensed holder are asked to surrender their weaponry.
