Coimbatore: Rathinavani 90.8 Community Radio in association with SMART and the Election Commission of India is broadcasting an awareness program regarding elections, today.
Highlighting the importance of the electoral process and voting rights, the program talks about registration for the first-time voters and voting rights.
A rally was also flagged off in this regard by the Tahsildar of Madukarai, Palanisamy along with Manickam, CEO, Rathinam Group of Institutions. The NSS students of Rathinam College of Arts and Science walked from the college campus to the nearby SIDCO industrial area.
Palanisamy addressed the gathering and explained the importance of voting and not to sell one’s vote for money. The students who participated in the rally also distributed pamphlets which contained details about the Election Commission of India’s toll free number 1950 and its App details of C- VIGIL along with a voters Helpline App. The students were also distributing flyers to the public titled ‘Need Leave to Cast Vote’ and the same was conveyed to the COSIEMA (Coimbatore SIDCO Industrial Estate Manufacturers Welfare Association).
