Coimbatore : Soil testing for the construction of bridge at Lawley road has commenced, this morning.

The Chief Minister during a meeting on August 9 announced that a flyover will be built in Lawley road and a tender for the same will be issued.

Lawley road is emerging to be an important arterial junction in the city connecting important educational institutions like TNAU, Bharathiar University and Government College of Technology. Over the years, the traffic congestion has amplified and a real need for flyover has emerged.

Based on the soil tests results, the bridge works will commence, say sources. Presently, the test is being conducted by drilling the ground and samples will be sent to a laboratory for testing.
