Coimbatore : A petition was given by the Sundakkaamuthur Thirunagar residents to the District Collector requesting the TASMAC bar in their locality to be removed.
Coimbatore : A petition was given by the Sundakkaamuthur Thirunagar residents to the District Collector requesting the TASMAC bar in their locality to be removed.
The petition stated, "A TASMAC bar is located in Thirunagar's third street which is a residential area. The Government Boys and Girls Higher Secondary schools are situated near the shop. The liquor sales start at 6 am and goes on until midnight. The alcoholics block the road and abuse women and children passing by the road.
They also talk loudly, abuse each other using foul language and get into tussles amongst themselves. Ladies are reluctant to visit Kannimaarswamy temple which is situated opposite to the shop. The bar is a hindrance to all ladies, children and elderly people.
The TV volume inside the shop too is high which disturbs school children. On behalf of the residents and the women's organization, we request the Government officials to remove the TASMAC bar from this place.”
