The Nilgiris : Members of industrial cooperative societies in the Nilgiris have demanded to resume the scheme of granting educational subsidy for their children which was stopped a couple of years back.

Nearly 30 thousand people are members of 15 cooperative societies functioning in the Nilgiris. The members were largely benefited by the educational aid given to their children by the societies.
Citing several reasons, the officials discontinued the scheme of granting educational aid. However, the members allege that no proper reasons or response was given by the officials.
In a bid to resume the scheme, the members have jointly petitioned the Chief Minister for resuming the educational aid scheme.
