Coimbatore : The election flying squad have seized Rs.10.6 lakh cash during a vehicle check in Madukkarai on Monday.
Coimbatore : The election flying squad have seized Rs.10.6 lakh cash during a vehicle check in Madukkarai on Monday.
The officials in the squad seized the unaccounted cash from Abhilash when they were engaged in vehicle check up. Though Abhilash claimed to have received the cash from his friend, the officials confiscated the cash citing lack of proper documents.
The cash was handed over to the treasury office.
"The cash can be claimed by submitting proper documents”, the officials told.
As the dates for the elections are nearing, the flying squad would intensify their checking, especially at the highways and Palakkad road.
