Coimbatore: A seven member election flying squad led by officer Suresh Kumar seized a 4.5 mm pistol from a man during an inspection on the Thondamuthur – Poosaripalayam road, on Monday.
Coimbatore: A seven member election flying squad led by officer Suresh Kumar seized a 4.5 mm pistol from a man during an inspection on the Thondamuthur – Poosaripalayam road, on Monday.
The squad intercepted a vehicle and during the checking they found a 177/4.5 mm, 92 FS German make pistol inside the car. The car was driven by Ravikumar, a Civil Engineer.
Later, the flying squad handed over the pistol to the Deputy Collector Amudhan.
“The pistol can be claimed back after submitting proper documents and license or else a case will be filed” told the flying squad officials.
The enquiry officers have decided to hand over the pistol to armed forces, if not claimed.
