The CPI (M) politburo member G Ramakrishnan predicts that the BJP will lose in all Tamil Nadu constituencies, including Coimbatore since the party had betrayed the people of Tamil Nadu.
Addressing the media at Gandhipuram here, he commented on the Pollachi scandal saying, "We welcome the High Court’s verdict in the Pollachi sexual abuse case. No action has been taken yet against the District Superintendent of Police. Is that not contempt of the Court’s order," he questioned. "The CBI investigation of the case should take place under the supervision of the Madras High Court," he added.
On election developments, G Ramakrishnan said, "The election statement of the Coimbatore parliamentary constituency will be released by the candidate himself. Our coalition is not the one that was formed just for elections. Beating BJP in the elections is the only target of CPI (M)," he noted.
The CPI (M) candidate for Coimbatore constituency P R Natarajan said, "Workers have been adversely affected due to the implementation of GST and demonetization, and measures will be initiated to reopen the closed industries.
Modi is not having the same image now which he had in the past elections as "GobackModi" is trending now. The tactics that BJP will take charge as CM, if it wins in Coimbatore will not work out since people are furious toward the State and Central governments. The vote bank will change for every election. AIADMK is feeble without Jayalalitha at present. The Secular Progressive Alliance will take necessary action to cancel educational loans of students, and measures will be initiated to regulate GST," he noted.
