He has been fielded against K. Subbrayan of CPI under DMK alliance.
About M. S. M. Anandan
He was a member of the 14th Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly from the Tiruppur North constituency.
He was the Minister for Forests in the Government of Tamil Nadu.
While he was the forest Minister he defeated the then sitting MLA C. Govindasamy of DMK, who got elected from the undivided Tirupur constituency on CPI (M) ticket in 2006, by highest margin of 73,271 votes in the entire State.
Interestingly, his father belonged to Communist party of India and now, he will be competing against a candidate from the Communist party.
