The Nilgiris : One man is reported to be dead after his car plunged into a gorge near Ooty, on the early hours of Sunday.
According to initial reports, Karthik from Palada, Ooty was on the way to attend a wedding. At around 4 am, when his car reached near Miniki Mandhu area, the car lost control and plunged into a gorge.
The locals who spotted the car in a collapsed state, alerted the police department. The police along with fire and rescue department retrieved the body of Karthik and sent to post mortem.
The police are investigating the case.
