"P R Natarajan, the electoral candidate for CPI (M) will win 2 lakh votes in Coimbatore constituency against the candidate from the AIADMK-BJP alliance," opined a confident Mayura Jayakumar, the Working President of the Tamil Nadu Congress Committee.
Jayakumar met the press along with P R Natarajan, the CPI (M) candidate for Coimbatore constituency. Following the announcement of the candidate, P R Natarajan met the district leaders of all the alliance parties.

Addressing the media, Mayura Jayakumar expressed the desire of people in the city to vote for CPI (M) and help the alliance emerge victorious. "There has been no progress in the past five years during the BJP regime. The DMK has now formed a coalition in Tamil Nadu against the self-styled AIADMK alliance," he added.
Jayaram also evoked memories of how senior Congress leader and former late Prime Minister, Indira Gandhi had contested in several constituencies in many elections. "Similarly, we, from the party are insisting that Rahul Gandhi should contest in any of the constituencies in Tamil Nadu."
MLA N Karthik of the Singanallur constituency and other district leaders of parties in alliance with the DMK were present during the meet.
