Actor-turned politician Kamal Haasan will introduce Makkal Needhi Maiam's 40 candidates to the electorate on March 24 at a function planned to be held at the Coddissia grounds, here in Coimbatore.
As many as 1137 aspiring party members had evinced interest in contesting the upcoming Lok Sabha election seats in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry. A team led Kamal Haasan and the Vice President of MNM, Dr. R Mahendran conducted the interviews for the members and shortlisted 40 candidates to contest in 39 Tamil Nadu constituencies and one Puducherry constituency.
Earlier, Kamal Haasan had announced that the party will fight solo in this election. The party has already started campaigning in Pollachi, distributing pamphlets highlighting their party's policies to the public and requesting the electorate to vote for change in the State.
