Coimbatore: Shocked by the Pollachi sexual abuse scandal, two siblings from the city petitioned the District Collector to grant women weapon license for their safety on Saturday.
Citing the sexual harassment against women in Pollachi, siblings, Tamil Eelam and Oviya requested the Collector to grant them license for possessing a gun to protect themselves during unforeseen situations.
Furthermore, Tamil Eelam said that the culprits of Pollachi sexual abuse case should be awarded maximum punishment for the crimes they have committed. "And so far, only four people have been arrested and a thorough inquiry should be conducted to arrest all those involved. Importantly, people should stop forwarding the leaked videos of the girls and the Cyber crime Police should take steps to delete the videos from the internet", she added.
