Coimbatore: To clear the extra rush of tourists during summer season, the Southern Railways has announced special trains between Mettupalayam (MTP) and Ooty between April 6 to June 29.
Coimbatore: To clear the extra rush of tourists during summer season, the Southern Railways has announced special trains between Mettupalayam (MTP) and Ooty between April 6 to June 29.
From Monday to Friday, the train services would be operated between MTP and Ooty at 7.10 am and reach Ooty at 12.30 pm, with stoppages at Kallar and Hillgrove. The train would then depart from Ooty at 2:30 pm and reach MTP by 6 pm.
However, the special train service introduced on weekends would depart from MTP at 9:10 am and reach Ooty by 2:30 pm. The total seating capacity of the special train would be 132.
Reservations are open from today through online.
