At the programme held at Mettupalayam, Additional Deputy Election Officer, Punitha sensitised on the election staff on the guidelines to be followed at voting booths . She also detailed on how the functioning of newly introduced VVPATS and how people should be educated on its usage during elections.
The Mettupalayam assembly falls under the Nilgiris Constituency and has a strength of 2,76,464 eligible voters. MTP is divided into 26 divisions and 321 polling booths will be established for the upcoming elections. And, every booth will have a separate election staff, said the officials.
