"Possession of videos and images of Pollachi victims is a crime" - Madurai High Court orders TN State govt

Madurai: The High Court of Madurai had issued a directive to government to ban all videos related to the Pollachi sexual abuse case from the internet.

Madurai: The High Court of Madurai had issued a directive to government to ban all videos related to the Pollachi sexual abuse case from the internet.

This directive is to prevent further spreading of the videos of young women who were sexually harrased by the accused. 

"All further evidence is to be produced to the CBI. And, action be taken against the officials responsible for revealing the identity of the victim", the Justice said. 

Further, the high court ordered the Tamil Nadu government to advertise that  possession of videos and images of Pollachi victims is a crime.

The court also noted that as this case is not in their jurisdiction, it needs to be transferred to the Madras High Court.
