Several political parties, public and students have been staging protests and road roko's to mark their condemnation against the act of brutality and demanding a transparent and earnest investigation.
Joining the protests, this evening the members of All India Students Federation staged an agitation in Gandhipuram against the incident and requesting the State government to initiate stern action against SP, Pandiarajan for revealing the name of the complainant. They also questioned as to how the Pollachi police failed to know about such a gruesome crime for the past seven years in their jurisdiction?.
The students urged that the case should be handled under the complete purview of a magistrate.
