Coimbatore: More than 50 cadres of 'Naam Tamilar Party' staged an agitation in front of the South Tahsildhar Office here on Thursday demanding a fair and swift probe in the Pollachi sexual abuse case.
The protest was led by Kalyanasundaram of the party who alleged that the police department failed to investigate the case thoroughly. He pointed that "Today, the CB-CID officials visited Thirunavukarasu's residence at Maakinampatti in Pollachi. When the CB-CID could do it, why did the police not hold any investigations to gather evidence against the detained".
He also strongly condemned the arrest of 'Naam Tamilar' cadres in Pollachi for attacking the liquor outlet of 'Bar' Nagarajan who was booked for assaulting the complainant's brother in the Pollachi case. Kalyanasundaram revealed that for the past two years, the bar has been functioning at Pollachi without proper license.

Later. the protestors were arrested by the police.
