With the onset of summer, plants and shrubs across the Coonoor region have dried up. As part of the precautionary measures to prevent outbreak of forest fires, fire prevention lines were drawn and police too have been deployed to patrol different areas. However, the fire on TTK Road in Coonoor was finally doused by fire fighters, led by the Coonoor Fire Officer Mohan who tirelessly worked with his team for nearly an hour to bring the situation under control.
