Coimbatore : More than 50 women including children held a rally from the city railway station to the District SP Police to show their condemnation against the gruesome Pollachi sexual abuse case and urging SP Pandiarajan to step down from the case.

The agitators held placards highlighting the brutality raged against women in Pollachi. They stressed that SP Pandiarajan should be transferred from Coimbatore district, as his past records are a clear proof for his arrogance against women.

Speaking on this, Shifa Banu, State General Secretary of the organisation evoked the incident where SP Pandiarajan slapped a woman who was peacefully protesting against the closure of a TASMAC shop in Palladam on April, 2017. While protests erupted state-wide to suspend him, he was however promoted from DSP to SP and transferred to Coimbatore.

She also demanded that the case which is presently with CB-CID should be handed over to CBI and all the culprits involved be punished.
The sight of girl children less than five years holding placards to stop sexual abuse against women, perhaps sent a strong message to the spectators and the society at large.
