With drought prevailing in Nilgiris, animals from the forest regions frequently enter residential areas in search of food and water. People found a bear roaming in the market area in the heart of Ooty town, following which the forest department was informed. Veterinary doctors are yet to reach the spot. The bear is reportedly hiding at the police quarters near the Ooty market area.
