Pollachi Case: No involvement of politicians or their heirs; only four videos seized - SP Pandiarajan in Coimbatore

Coimbatore : While allegations are brewing up on the involvement of politicians and their heirs in the shocking Pollachi sexual abuse case, District Superintendent of Police, Pandiarajan has denied the accusations and affirmed that none of the politicians have been involved in the racket. He also warned the people to refrain from spreading unwarranted information about the case.

He also warned the people to refrain from spreading unwarranted information about the case.

As the case has triggered immense distress in the State especially among the women, the SP convened a press meet this evening in the city to update on the progress of the case. 

“Only four videos have been secured from the cellphones seized from the four people who have been arrested and remanded. The information that hundreds of videos were seized is untrue. We have extracted the required information of the case from the arrested offenders and if required, they would be re-investigated. During interrogation, we found that only these four people have been connected with the case. As claimed, there is no network or involvement of politicians or their heirs in the case”, the SP confirmed.

“We identified two women from the videos, however they are not willing to lodge a complaint against the arrested men”, he added. 

When questioned on the series of suicides in Pollachi region in the past three years, the SP assured to probe the issue.

He also advised the young women to refrain from chatting with strangers and sharing their personal photos and data through social media.
