Coimbatore : In keeping with the model code of conduct for the forthcoming parliamentary elections in effect from March 10, the District Collector had announced the cancellation of grievances day at the Collectorate, until elections through a communique.
However, unaware of the announcement, many petitioners approached the District Collectorate today to file their grievance petitions and had to leave disappointed.
Later, officials explained to the public about the model code of conduct and that grievances day will not be held until after elections. As dictated by the Election Commission, the officials at the Collectorate and all government offices are busy removing all welfare schemes posters, flex boards of political parties and photos of politicians from their premises.
