Devotees rejoice as Vinayakar idols were safely immersed

Close to 1000 idols that were installed around the city for the Vinayakar Chathurthi celebrations were taken on a procession and immersed at different lakes around the city.

The idols procession took place in 28 places in the city. Police security was beefed up at all immersion and procession routes, to avoid unforeseen incidents. The tasmacs along the procession routes were temporarily closed for a brief period.

The fire & rescue department personnel are aiding the devotees in the safe immersion of the idols. The water levels at immersion sites were artificially increased by filling more water.
