Summer Special Trains Announced Between Podanur–Kharagpur and Kharagpur–Erode

Southern Railway has announced weekly special trains between Podanur–Kharagpur and Kharagpur–Erode to handle the increased passenger rush during the 2026 summer vacation season. The trains will halt at Tiruppur, Erode, Salem and several major stations en route.


Coimbatore: To cater to the growing number of passengers during the summer vacation period, Southern Railway has announced the operation of weekly special trains between Podanur and Kharagpur, and Kharagpur and Erode on select dates in May and June 2026.

Train No. 06065 Podanur–Kharagpur Weekly Special will depart from Podanur at 11.00 PM on May 23, 30 and June 6 (Saturdays), and reach Kharagpur at 12.30 PM on Mondays.

Train No. 06066 Kharagpur–Erode Weekly Special will leave Kharagpur at 3.30 PM on May 25, June 1 and 8 (Mondays), reaching Erode Junction at 3.45 AM on Wednesdays.

The trains will comprise AC 3-tier, sleeper class, general second class and luggage-cum-brake van coaches.

Tiruppur, Erode, Salem, Jolarpettai, Katpadi, Renigunta, Nellore, Ongole, Vijayawada, Rajahmundry, Duvvada, Kottavalasa, Vizianagaram, Srikakulam Road, Palasa, Brahmapur, Khurda Road, Bhubaneswar, Naraj Marthapur, Jajpur Keonjhar Road, Bhadrak and Balasore.

Tiruppur – 11.48 PM / 11.50 PM (Saturdays)

Erode – 12.45 AM / 12.50 AM (Sundays)

Salem – 02.02 AM / 02.05 AM

Jolarpettai – 04.45 AM / 04.50 AM

Train No. 06066 – Kharagpur to Erode Weekly Special

Jolarpettai – 10.05 PM / 10.10 PM (Tuesdays)

Salem – 12.07 AM / 12.10 AM (Wednesdays)

Southern Railway stated that these special services are being introduced to provide additional travel convenience for passengers during the peak summer holiday season.
