This morning the Commisioner inspected the arrangements at the pulse polio camps and administered polio drops to children. He noted that 32 primary health care centres, 129 mid-day meal centres, 49 government schools, railway station, 5 bus stands -- a total of 339 centres has been identified as pulse polio centres within the corporation limits.
"678 volunteers from NGOs and nursing colleges, 455 mid-day meal workers, 212 corporation staff, 49 doctors will be assisting the parents at these 339 centres from 7 am to 5 pm. Hence, parents should make use of this opportunity to administer Polio drops to their children and ensure a healthy life for their kids", urged the Commissioner.
Deputy Corporation Commissioner, Prasanna Ramasamy, City Welfare Officer, Santhosh Kumar, Deputy City Welfare Officer, Vasanth Dhivagam and others were present.
