The District Collector Rasamani, Corporation Commissioner Shravan Kumar, MLAs Amman Arjunan, PRG Arunkumar, Ettimadai Shanmugam, Kanagaraj and Arukutty participated in the function. Later, while addressing the media, Minister S.P.Velumani said, "Among the 12 districts in Tamil Nadu, Smart City works are being carried out in 11 districts, apart from Dindigul." He refused to answer any other question put to him by the media and left the event immediately.

Addressing the queries of the media, MLA Kanagaraj said, "The DMDK Treasurer, Premalatha’s remark that 37 MPs of TN are of no use is her own opinion. Tamil Nadu is keenly watching the alliance of DMDK since the party is holding talks with two parties, which is a wrong approach. DMDK will surely ally with AIADMK. Vijayakanth's behaviour in the Assembly without maintaining political decency is the reason for the decline of his party. DMDK alliance can only help us garner 500 to 1000 votes," he added.
