In the recent days, the online battle game PUBG began to gain more popularity among youngsters and gaming enthusiasts. Player Unknown's Battlegrounds or PUBG is allegedly causing mental illness among students as the game addiction is hampering their sleeping cycles and studies.
Meanwhile, the Surat district administration has made a statement banning the game which will come into effect from March 9, tomorrow.
According to the statement, "Students are reported to be under performing in their studies owing to their addiction to the game. Hence, a ban has been announced".
The district administration has also sent circular to all primary education officers in the district to ensure effective enforcement of the ban.
