Addressing the media on the updated voters list of Tirupur District which comprises of eight constituencies — Tirupur North, Tirupur South, Udumalpet, Palladam, Avinashi, Kangeyam, Palladam and Dharapuram, the District Collector said 1413 names have been deleted from the electoral roll.
He added that out of the 1400 booths, several booths are said to be in dilapidated state. Hence, the district administration has escalated the issue to the election commission for changing voter booth and setup additional booths.
The Collector also apprised that necessary arrangements at the voting booths in the district to aid physically-challenged people are being carried out.
