Coimbatore: A newborn baby has been found abandoned in a cattle farm at Saravanan Nagar in Kavundampalayam on Thursday.
According to reports, the couple, Sivaramachandran and Amul, own a cattle farm near Tirupathi temple in Saravanan Nagar here.
On Thursday morning, Amul heard the crying sound of an infant, as she was carrying out her regular chores in her farm. The couple cleaned and wrapped the child in a clean cloth.
Before they escalated the issue to the police or sought any medical help, the couple provided milk to the child whose umbilical cord was yet to be cut.
Upon information, the Police and the ambulance rushed to the spot. The child was immediately taken to a private hospital and administered first aid. Later, the baby was shifted to the Government hospital.
As there is no clue on the whereabouts of the parents, the police are analysing the CCTV footage in the area to trace the person who could have abandoned the child.
