Coimbatore : Coimbatore Management Association's National Management Day Celebrations was held today at a private hotel in the city. Management awards in different categories were conferred to individuals and organizations who have contributed substantially in their respective fields.

"Professionals under the categories, Best Entrepreneur Award, Best SME Entrepreneur Award, Best Woman Entrepreneur Award, Best Startup award and Best Manager Award will be awarded tonight", noted Prashanth, President of CMA.
Raghavan Srinivasan, Editor, Business Line, Chennai and Maya Sree Kumar Assitant Vice President & Head of Academy India, Cognizant Technology Solutions were the Chief Guest and Guest of Honour for the day.
Addressing the gathering, Raghavan Srinivasan said, "Entrepreneurs should think about pursuit of excellence to become global leaders. Small and medium enterprises should be willing to embrace technology and invest in research. Organisations should be inclusive and involve all stake holders to achieve growth and development."
Raghavan also mentioned about Swacch Bharath Abhiyan project. "Around 9.2 crore toilets were built in rural areas. All 365 days people were engaged in work and this project acheived 100 % completion because the project gave ownership to the local people who were involved in building the toilets".
Awardees for the current year were :
1. Roots Best Entrepreneur Award was presented to V. Senthil Kumar, Managing Director, Propel Industries Pvt Ltd.
2. CMA - Mahendra Pumps Best SME award was presented to K. Jagannathan, Managing Director, Silver Crown Group of Companies
3. CMA – GRG Best Woman Entrepreneur Award presented to Dr. Asha R. Rao, Medical Director, Rao Hospital
4. CMA - DJ Best Manager Award was presented to J. Sivakumaran, COO, Kovai Medical Center & Hospitals
5. CMA - Quadra Best Startup Award was presented to Baskaran Veluchamy, Founder & CEO, Native special.com, Coimbatore.
