Concluding the electoral pacts with the Communist Party of India (CPI), the Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi (VCK) and the Indhiya Jananayaga Katchi (IJK) — for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, the DMK has given 2, 3 and 1 seat respectively.
Speaking to the media, Mutharsan, State Secretary of CPI said, "As the talks ended amicably with DMK, we are happy to share that CPI will contest in two places in our own symbol for the upcoming parliamentary elections. The alliance formed by DMK will turn victorious. Our party will strive to remove BJP from the governance".
Mutharasan said that CPI will extend support to the DMK in the bypolls that would be held for the 21 Assembly constituencies lying vacant.
