The Nilgiris: The Ooty judge has adjourned the hearing of the Kodanad case to March 18 and extended custody for the five accused including Sayan and Manoj.
During the hearing of the Kodanad case on February 8, Sayan and Manoj did not appear before the Court following which Judge Vadamalai issued an arrest warrant to Sayan and Manoj, against which their advocate filed a plea at the High Court. During the hearing, the judge ordered their arrest in four days.
Meanwhile, the Kotagiri police arrested Sayan and Manoj in Thrissur and produced them before the Ooty Court on March 1, at 10 am. Judge Vadamalai ordered a one-day police custody for them and also ordered for them to be produced before the Court on March 2. The Ooty district sessions court Judge Vadamalai remanded them under judicial custody until March 4.
Meanwhile, all the accused appeared before the Court during the hearing of the case today. Judge Vadamalai adjourned the case till March 18 and extended their custody until then. After the hearing, Sayan, Manoj Sami, Bijin Kutty and Theebu were taken to Coimbatore prison.
