He also apprised that only after a medical fitness test, the Air Force would determine whether Wing Commander Abhinandan Varthaman, would fly again.
Addressing the media in Coimbatore at the Presidential Colours presentation event, the Chief Air Marshal said that “India will induct the 36 French-made Rafale combat jet in September 2019. After which, Jaquar, MIG 21, Miraj 2000 model flights will be grounded”.

When questioned on the recurring accidents in IAF, he said they are monitoring and analysing the issue.
He also revealed that 13% of IAF work force are women. And, provision has been given for them to extend their service after 13 years of their service period.
