Coimbatore : The DMK’s mouthpiece ‘Murasoli’ has slammed President Ram Nath Kovind for attending the Maha Shivaratri function being held at the Isha Yoga Centre here, today.
"Being the President of a secular country, how the President accept the invitation of a so-called ‘saint’- who has already several allegations on him. Last year, the Prime Minister visited the premise which drew criticism from people and political parties. We are also obliged to think on the expenses for the security arrangements carried out for the visit. Though 'Jaggi’ enjoys great influence of the ruling BJP party, being the President of this country, Ram Nath Kovind should have thought twice on attending this event. At least, in the future, the President should refrain from attending such events keeping in mind the dignity of the position, he is holding," stated the Murasoli editorial.
