Indian President Ramnath Kovind who is here in Coimbatore yesterday to attend Mahasivarathri at Isha and other functions in the City.
Coimbatore: Hon' President of India, Ram Nath Kovind presented the 'Presidential Colors' at Sulur Air Force on Monday Morning.

Today morning he was the chief guest in Airforce base Sulur where he presided over a parade and awarded Presidential colours.

Presidential colours were awarded to 5 Base Repair Depot Sulur and Airforce Station Hakkimpet for their exemplary service in maintenance of aircraft and training officers for the IAF.

The President lauded 5BRD for promoting self reliance through rigorous maintenance of our aircrafts. He also appreciated the Hakkimpet Air Force Station for training personnel, especially for training lady pilots.

The Presidential colours award is the highest award bestowed upon any military unit. The Award for Hakkimpet was received by Air Commander R. K. Oberoi and for 5BRD by Air Commander Atul Garg.

583 air warriors from 5BRD and Hakkimpet participated in the parade.

Air Chief Marshal Birendra Singh Dhanoa, TN Governor Banwarilal Purohit and other officials were present. Tejas, MiG 17, Sarang and Darnier aircrafts were used in the show.
