In 2017, Kesavan, a labourer from Mariapuram, Tirupur was brutally murdered in his home in the absence of his wife Kirthiga and his two children.
On questioning, the deceased's wife confessed of having an affair with Madhiazhagan their neighbour and that she took her lover's help to kill her husband.
The police arrested the duo under relevant sections and the case was heard at the Tirupur Court.
On Saturday, Justice Jiyavudhin of No:2 Additional Sessions Court pronounced the duo guilty and declared life imprisonment along with RS. 10,000 fine.
Following the judgement, the police took the duo to Coimbatore Central Prison.
