Tirupur : A three-day Knitwear Machines Expo 'Knit-tech 2019' kick-started in Tirupur today. Knitwear machines of various countries are on display at the Expo.
The Expo began at the Hi-tech Tirupur Exhibition campus on Thirumuruganpoondi Ring Road in Tirupur. The Expo is hosting more than 400 stalls across 2.50 lakh sq.ft. Knitwear machines manufacturing companies from 23 countries including USA, Italy, Germany and China are participating in this Expo.
More than 2000 businessmen from foreign countries and around 30,000 knitwear manufacturers and spectators from various parts of the country, including Surat, Ludhiana and Kolkata are expected to attend the exhibition.
Organisers assert that business up to Rs.500 crore is expected to take place in the three-day Expo. A new knitting machine brought from USA has attracted viewers since the machine can single-handedly manufacture 1000 kg knitwear cloths which is equal to the power of four machines. A washing machine designed by a company from Tirupur has also attracted viewers since it can work efficiently with minimum usage of water.
The 'colour adder machine' designed by a Coimbatore firm and the automatic weight-lifting machine of a Coimbatore firm have also drawn interest among spectators.
