According to reports, 300 ballet units, voter-verifiable paper audit trail (VVPATs) and control units alloted for the district of Coimbatore has reached the office deputy director of health service at Race Course on Friday.
The VVPATs and control units were locked inside a strong room in the presence of District Collector K. Rajamani and will be protected by police officials round the clock.
Depending upon the voter population, the election commission has approved the required number of ballet units, control units and VVPAT machines to the district, an official said.
In June 2018, 7,370 electronic voting machines (EVMs) for Coimbatore and Pollachi constituencies reached the city from Bangalore.
