For the very first time, 100 marks has been allotted for every subject. According to a statement released by Vasundara Devi, Director of government examinations "A total of 8,87,992 students belonging to 7,082 higher secondary schools of Tamil Nadu and Puducherry are about to appear for the exam.
4,01,101 boys, 4,60,006 girls and 2 from third gender are appearing for the exams. Apart from them, 45 prisoners and 26,883 private candidates are also appearing for the exam. And, 2,944 centres has been allotted in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry for the exam. In Puducherry, 15,408 students of 150 schools are to appear for the exams at 40 centres.’
"Around 44,400 teachers have been deployed for supervising the examination centres’ the statement noted.
